About Us

Here we are!...the two crazy cyclists who will be doing this tour. Let us introduce ourselves...where to begin?

First of all, we are stepsisters and have known each other for geez I think now about 20 years...yikes time flies! We are both teachers too! We have shared a bedroom, a tent and even a canoe together (no not just paddling together but sleeping under it...yeah let's not talk about the canoe, we had to sleep under it one time during a brutal rain and wind storm in Temagami, ON on a canoe trip)..it's a long story...

We are Canadian and originally from Ottawa, ON. Lisa lives in Midland, ON right now and Daun in Ottawa, ON (but misses the east coast of Canada a lot!).

Anyway, we have also shared a Trans-Canada cycling tour during the summer of 2002 together. As members and founders of Cycling for Sustainability http://www.cycle.wild.net.au/home.html we cycled over 7300 kilometers while raising awareness for sustainable living solutions and raising funds for an organic farmer in Saskatchewan who was at the time being sued by Monsanto.

We have both been cycling since we were teenagers, cycling from Ottawa to Kingston, ON and then back again in two days (about 360 kms!!) so we don't mess around!

We both have an extensive background in camping and touring so we carry all of our gear with us. We also have a bit of bicycle repair and maintenance skills so we try our best to keep ourselves on the road.

If you'd like to know more about each of us please check out our profiles or come and ride with us for a day or more this August and you will definitely get a few laughs from us!
